GM’s Software Coding Standards for Software Suppliers

Fueled by more capable and lower cost processors and the increasing demands on functional safety, a better driver and passenger experience, economic efficiency, connectivity, and even autonomy, the complexity in the automobile is accelerating. For GM this means that their suppliers must meet stringent demands on software quality to ensure that the passenger experience is both functionally safe and exceptional. To achieve these goals, GM has defined software coding standards for its suppliers to use for various application types, such as higher-end infotainment types of applications or more specific functional safety applications such as body electronics. In this webinar, we will review the different coding standards that are now to be used by GM suppliers and how suppliers can most cost-effectively comply with those coding standards and provide the relevant data back to GM, demonstrating their compliance.
