Ensuring Automotive Functional Safety with QNX and LDRA

Although we love the driving experience, today's vehicles are becoming increasingly complex with the integration of next generation human machine interfaces (HMI's), infotainment, telematics, and adaptive driving systems that adjust for fuel economy, performance, safety, and passenger comfort. With all of these features and functions, the core challenge for automotive manufacturers and their suppliers is to design and develop functionally safe vehicles faster, integrating many pieces from different suppliers into an overall vehicle system. Jared Fry Field Application Engineer, LDRA
Jared Fry is a Field Application Engineer for LDRA Ltd.  He graduated from Western New Mexico University with degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science.  His career began in the defense industry working for Lockheed Martin.  There Jared served as a software engineer working on various projects ranging from missile and radar systems to training simulations and software testing.  With LDRA he leverages these experiences as a consultant, assisting clients throughout the development process to produce a quality and certifiable product.

Yi Zheng Product Manager, QNX Software Systems
Yi Zheng is the product manager responsible for QNX Software Systems' portfolio of safety and security products designed for the industrial, automotive, energy, and railway markets, and which are certified to standards such as IEC 61508, ISO 26262, and Common Criteria ISO/IEC 15408.  Prior to joining QNX Software Systems, Yi worked at Entrust Technologies, Autodesk, and Nortel Networks, designing a wide range of software applications. She holds a Bachelor's in Computer Science from Carleton University and a Master's in Business Administration from Queen's University, and is a Certified Management Accountant.
