Summary of Seminars

These half day seminars will discuss the newest version of the MISRA standard that lets developers take advantage of more C features while helping them mitigate risk for safety-critical applications. Our speakers will provide the very latest information directly from the MISRA committee and will discuss the plans for the future. Listen to Chris Tapp, Chairman of the MISRA C++, member of the MISRA C Working group and one of the key authors of this important new standard.

Anyone developing software with the potential to put lives at risk has an obligation to take every reasonable step to ensure that their work is sound. Adhering to standards is one key step in that process, and MISRA is the internationally recognised foundation for best coding practises. However, features of the language that are designed to increase application performance, developer productivity and implementation flexibility, are often just the features that such standards disallow and this has long been a source of trouble for developers. MISRA C:2012, with its more flexible approach, changes the game in this respect.

Summary of Training

The RTCA/DO-178C training program is specifically designed to provide participants with a deep insight into software considerations within airborne systems and equipment certification for civilian aircraft. This level of certification is in high demand from the private, public and government sectors of the avionics industry in Bangalore. In addition, DO-178C is not only used by the avionics industry but also: medical, nuclear and industrial control.

The training program aims to provide an understanding/interpretation of the DO-178C standard for OEMs/Tier 1&2 and certification authorities. The training is delivered by experienced DERs and RTCA committee members who are able to provide an in-depth interpretation of the standard as well as share their experience from projects all over the world including best practices, methods and tools.

The RTCA/DO-178C guidelines are globally recognised and applied by both companies seeking to develop high quality safety-critical software applications and those seeking to regulate and certify such applications. Certification authorities such as the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in the US and the European Aviation Safety Administration (EASA) in Europe, have applied the guidelines for many years and hence it is very important for interested parties to ensure that they keep abreast of the latest developments and maintain a sufficient understanding of the guidelines as a whole.
